Sunday update

Kol is feeling more or less OK this morning, but he's still obviously dealing with some pain. The medication is helping, and there are times when he seems quite alert and cheerful, but he is sleeping often and seems a little groggy much of the time when he is awake. This is likely at least partly due to the morphine, I think. He hasn't eaten a lot yet, but he did eat a
banana earlier. Kristen isn't impressed with most of the hospital food (no surprises there), and will be getting our blender here ASAP to start making some smoothies for him.

Thank you for all the prayers and messages of encouragement, and sorry we can't necessarily reply to each one, but please know that they have brought us comfort.

  4. Dear Kristen and Kirk,

We heard the news this morning. We are praying for Kol, for relief from the pain and for wisdom for the doctors how to best treat him. We are praying for all of you, for comfort and strength and hope. Please know we are thinking of you all and will continue to pray for you. A verse that I've held dear in my heart is as follows; "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit." From the Psalms, can't remember exactly which one. It's given me great comfort in difficult times. I have not experienced what you both are, but I hope in some way it can also give you some comfort. Praying for complete healing for Kol! Love, the Behenna family
